Hi, my name is Angela Eiter. My discipline isfree climbing. My friends call me Angy . I was born on 27 January 1986 in Imst, Austria. My philosophy of life is a route has to be read like a book.
Double lead climbing world champion Angela Eiter has been winning major competitions for many years. In 2003, she took her first World Cup title and has been considered the ‘grande dame’ of climbing ever since, with accolades and records such as six wins at Rock Masters under her belt. Her notable performances include winning the World Games in 2005 at Duisburg and by her 25th World Cup win in 2011.
Her most successful year so far has been 2010, when she claimed the Grand Slam title at the Lead Masters event in France and was crowned European Champion, as well as racking up plenty of top five finishes in world cup events. She went on to claim many more victories throughout 2011, including a world championship title, and returned to the 2012 Climbing World Championships in Paris to claim her fourth title. “I really don’t believe that I’ll be able to top this,’ she said at the time. After overcoming a serious shoulder injury, Angy has been conquering 8B boulders and 9a ascents, including Hades, Big Hammer and most recently, Era Vella in Spain.
