Hi, my name is Chris Davenport. My discipline is freeski big mountain & freeride. My friends call me Dav. I was born on 4 January 1971 in Aspen, Colorado, USA. My special talent is leading ski camps for up and coming winter sportsmen and sportswomen. My favourite music is Bob Marley, The Black Keys, Jerry Garcia.
If you're ever talking about people who are truly at one with the mountains, then Chris Davenport is bound to come up in conversation. Chris – or 'Dav' as he's also known – has seen and done almost all there is in his long career as a skier.
He started out as a keen racer; winning the World Extreme Skiing Championships on two occasions and claiming and a bronze medal in the Winter X Games. After that he set his sights on conquering the great mountains of North America and beyond. Chris's check-list included every big in California, all 54 mountains in Colorado, and even Mount Everest.
In recent years, Chris has been focusing his attention on making ski films. To date he has starred in more than 25 movies, and has taken on presenting duties for ESPN. In his spare time, he leads expeditions and teaches at ski camps to pass on the torch to the next generation of skiers, in the hope that they discover the same serenity that he himself holds so dear.
