Hi, my name is Queralt Castellet. My discipline is snowboard halfpipe. I was born on 17 June 1989 in Sabadell, Spain. My special talent is painting. My philosophy of life is to live today like there's no tomorrow. The most important person in my life is my mum. My favourite food is beef steak. My favourite music is easy-listening hip hop.
Queralt Castellet is as fierce as a lioness on the slopes. The Spanish athlete made her debut appearance back in 2005 at the FIS World Championships in Chile and, within a year, she was competing at the Winter Olympics in Italy.
From there, Castellet has grown rapidly as a rider. She has stood on top of the podium at the FIS World Championships many times, won the women’s halfpipe at the Winter Dew Tour two years running (2010 and 2011) and took first place at the Burton Canadian Open Championships in 2012. She placed third at the Ladies Halfpipe World Cup in 2013, took silver at the Burton US Open in Colorado the following year and has continued to go from strength to strength ever since.
But does she have any plans to slow down any time soon? Not likely. Queralt is often mentioned as being one of the greatest rivals of snowboarding legend Kelly Clark and has left her trailing behind on occasions. She sets herself clearly-defined goals and always knows to reach them, so it’s safe to say she’s still got a lot more snowboarding left in her.
Queralt Castellet may have already made her mark, but with her growing collection of top results, media exposure, and let’s not forget her charismatic personality, she's making sure it isn’t rubbed out!
