Hi, my name is Andreu Lacondeguy. My discipline is freeride mountain biking. I was born on 12 January 1989 in Linás del Vallés, Barcelona, Spain. My special talent is pulling tricks on a BMX, then perfecting them for a mountain bike.

Andreu Lacondeguy is constantly pushing the boundaries of mountain biking. "I can't stay calm while riding. I always take risks so, if there are three rounds, I'll fall in two of them and get it perfect in the last one. I always try to stretch myself to the limit," the Spaniard says.

Lacondeguy and his brother Lluis learned their skills and showmanship in California, where they could practice with international stars such as Cory Nastazio. "We all know each other and the atmosphere is great. What's more, we meet at all the competitions so, if someone comes up with a good trick you feel happy for them, even if they get in ahead of you."

Lacondeguy was the first man to land a backflip from a snow-covered big air ramp on a mountain bike, and at the time he was one of only three athletes to have landed a double backflip on a mountain bike during a competition, too. These days, a series of high-profile wins have helped to establish him as one of mountain biking's hottest talents.

A podium finish at Vienna Air King led to a dominating presence in front of a crowd of 20,000 spectators at the Red Bull Berg Line event in Winterberg, where Lacondeguy took first. A second place spot at freeride's ultimate showcase, Crankworx Whistler, has also rated highly amongst his achievements, as well as an X Games Slopestyle podium in Munich in 2013.

But, in 2014, Lacondeguy crowned his career by winning the infamous Red Bull Rampage event, affirming his place among the best MTB riders in the world.

Darkfest - Official Highlights

The boys headed to South Africa with plans to take Pure Darkness to the next level. The result - Darkfest. Nico Vink, Clemens 'C-Dawg' Caudela and Sam Reynolds spent a month at the PD site refreshing the original step up and 'small' line, as well as building a new line (aka the twisty wizard). Nico and Clemens are the 2 most experienced builders in the scene, they killed it!! Andreu Lecondeguy, Cam Zink, Graham Aggasiz, Kurt Sorge, Adolf Silva, Kyle Jameson and Ethan Nel joined them (along with the media team of course) for 2 weeks of insane riding and good times!
