Hi, my name is Yannick Granieri. My discipline is MTB freeride. I was born on 22 December 1986 in Lyon, France. My special talent is creativity. My philosophy of life is live to ride, ride for life.

Yannick Granieri is a lover of life and a pursuer of dreams. The freerider from Lyon, France has been surrounded by bikes since birth, as his grandfather, Joseph Follis, was the renowned bike manufacturer of the Follis brand.

As a child however, Yannick was more focussed on gymnastics, and left biking to his older brothers. But with such strong family ties linking him back to bikes, it didn't take long for his heritage to catch up with him.

Now, with his lively but aggressive style, Granieri is a textbook biker with one distinct advantage: his past gymnastic experience. Not only does he execute his tricks with refined grace and finesse, but he has impeccable spatial awareness to boot.

In his career so far, the Frenchman has managed to secure an abundance of wins and titles at competitions around the globe, including White-Style, the Claymore Challenge and the Nine-Knights contest for Best Trick.

After being out of commission for a whole six months following ACL and knee injuries sustained in late 2012, Granieri came back stronger than ever, and picked up a win at Crankworx Les 2 Alpes and second place at Crankworx Whistler. Having taken podium finishes at the Bearclaw Invitational too, Granieri is looking to the future with much enthusiasm.

With his skill as a rider constantly improving, each year he continues to pull something pretty remarkable out of the bag, each time bigger, better and badder than the last.

Aggressive Freestyle Mountain Biking w/ Yannick Granieri

We caught up with Crankworx Les2Alpes course designer Yannick Granieri at the first stop of the FMB DIAMOND SERIES. Having placed 4th in the previous (and only) two events in Les2Alpes, Yannick had his sights firmly set on a podium position. Unfortunately however Yannick failed to complete a run much to the disappointment of the local fans eager to sniff French success. Despite this, keep an eye out for this French charger, he hasn't laid down his weapons yet. Watch the second stop on the FMB Diamond Series LIVE on red bull.com

Fox Europe Presents Yannick Granieri X Lee Debuse - Wakeboard & MTB

Yannick Granieri has one of the most impressive backyards we have ever seen. So when he approached us to see if we would build him a jump over the "Canal de Marseille", the river that runs right through his property, we jumped at the chance. Oh, and then Lee Debuse from our wakeboard team, got wind of the project and decided he wanted to be involved. The end result is epic........
